Good article about Beacon Hill neighborhood in the Star. I wasn't aware of the history and scale and number of homes being built. Seems like there is a gentrification process that is moving past Troost to 71 highway.

New houses on the north side of E. Beacon Hill Lane. I wish they would have continued the townhouses down this side of the street. I don't know if they had difficulty selling those built further west or not. Maybe they would have been more popular if they were more attractive. :D

New house being constructed on the southwest corner of E. 26th Street and Tracy Avenue. There might be enough room for another house on that corner, but one can't tell if they are putting a foundation there yet.

Me too. It’s one of the most architecturally interesting and fun neighborhoods in KCMO.

The architecture is nice, but all that Beacon Hill development comes with the caveat that those nice new homes are part of an HOA, not the old homeowner's association. That will always bother me. It should never have been allowed to happen.

Not to mention it's completely auto-centric.

Milhaus has started preparing the parcel for redevelopment at 27th and Troost.

This is at 26th and Forest.

I did notice placement of some parcel sticks south of 26th Street on Forest as well, but no movement of dirt or anything. Forest Avenue is blocked off from 25th to 27th streets. I believe the City is redoing utilities.
