Also, does anyone hate the name? City Barrel? It sounds super generic, like the name of a Local Root Beer (City Barrel Root Beer)

The first thing I thought about with the name was City Wok from South Park and how the guy always said Shitty Wok
Apparently their landlord -- the former owner of the Cashew -- withdrew the lease, which caused them to move.

Novel KC restaurant will be packing up the house soon–literally–and moving from the Westside neighborhood to the East Crossroads.

After operating five years in a cozy house at 815 W. 17t St., the fine-dining restaurant, it’s actually about “Novel American cuisine” not books, is relocating to 1927 McGee St. and plans to open there April 6. Its last day in the house is March 24.

good riddance...they would never clean their sidewalks...

Seems like a great place for a nice outdoor patio restaurant.

Watch this parcel closely. Haven’t heard good rumors.

It could probably handle two restaurants with a shared patio.

People need some place to put their stuff. My garage is so full I have two units rented to put my extra things.

I think it's bunk they are having to repair this w/o any help from an organization.

Yes, it seems a bit much to expect the condo owners to have to shoulder the cost of this alone.

No, it's not.

When you move into a condo building with maintenance costs you are responsible for all repairs. Fancy tile work, expensive wood work or special sign it's all the same.

I'd be willing to chip in if they removed the name of a long defunct auto part and appliance retailer and replaced it with "Kansas City." That way no one would ever have to caption a KC skyline shot again.
