LEED and the USGBC consider wood to be material efficient framing. As long as it meets the structural requirements.Highlander wrote:What is the development pictured here? Isn't this the new hotel on Main? If so, Strange that they would use a wood construction.

I noticed some construction fencing around a portion of the lot in front of Lulu's. Anyone know what's going on there? Is it related to the hotel going in across the street?

Re: Misc Crossroads News
Someone told me that part of the lot was always "owned" by the hotel property...so now that they are using the building, they are reclaiming their lot.
That lot is a complete cluster of "this is my spot". I hate it so much.

Re: Misc Crossroads News
it was owned by tom leavitt until it sold to the hotel group, if i recall... so not really always. it will be shared surface parking once the hotel is finished.KCPowercat wrote:Someone told me that part of the lot was always "owned" by the hotel property...so now that they are using the building, they are reclaiming their lot.

Lara and Kyle Gray – lovers of beer and the outdoors culture of Fort Collins, Colorado – never had long-term plans to move to the Midwest, much less Kansas City, to open a brewery. Yet sometimes the path one least expects becomes the right one to take: The couple has purchased property at 1725 McGee Street in the heart of the Crossroads with the plan to open Casual Animal Brewing Co. within the next year.

I always thought my fashion style was filthy casual, but maybe it's animal casual.

Does anyone have more information on what's going into 2100 Grand? I tried my hand at the permit-sleuthing game and didn't get much beyond that it appears post-renovation it will be commercial.
