There are speakeasy style bars in KC that do very well, and liquor is legal. People seem to love the idea of secrecy and exclusivity, even if it's based only on simply knowing the establishment exists and where it is located.

A truly illicit, underground speakeasy coffee shop would probably sell more than coffee if ya know what I mean.

Yeah, looks like they'll give Oddly Correct and Quay Coffee some good competition in the ne-plus-ultra coffee-hipster space. ... Broadway, of course, still has the dirty-hippy/stoner/no-WiFi coffee-hipster market locked up.

Don't forget YJ's when it comes to the dirty-hippy/stoner/no-WiFi coffee-hipster market. Of course it doesn't do as much business, but it is the most dirty, most stonery, and most wifi hating of them all lol.
