i'm told the residents haven't been allowed to come back yet and are being put up in hotels all over town, as far away as OP.

Checking the thread it appears it opened in 2006. Would the low income tax credits expire after 15 years?

I thought LIHTC requirements were 30 years, but perhaps not?

That’s awful for the people there. Is it normal for places to not require rental insurance?

Would not have saved them, but could have helped.

lot of large landlords have boilerplate lease provisions "requiring" renters insurance but never do anything to make sure you have it (like require a COI). i assume an awful lot of tenants don't review all the terms of a 15+ page lease very carefully.

Every place I’ve lived at in recent memory has required me to show proof of insurance prior to move in and be listed as an interested party so they’d know if you cancel.

I’m sure it’s not the hardest thing to get around, but just surprised me to read.

I think 15 years is the minimum compliance period possible depending on the deal.
