Amen Scooter. I walk past that almost every day, and it's a damn eyesore. That lower plaza could be a really interesting spot as well, if somebody gave it some TLC

Ohhhh, that would be cool down in that lower area along with some complimentary stores, that could be a very hopping lower plaza.

Has anyone complaining about it called 3-1-1?  Definitely a codes violation people need to be reporting...

Dave, if you lived in that building you would be responsible.  It is a condo and all the owners are liable.

understood. i am on the board of my decidedly less well-heeled condo and we take responsibility for major repairs, especially those that affect external appearance. hence my assumption that it's a larger, more expensive problem than anyone is willing it divulge.

It's much more complicated than a quick fix of the railing...and extremely expensive.  Plus, there are issues surrounding a recent approval of the building on the Historic Registry and a dispute about how to pay, how much, and how best to get it repaired between the HOA and the developer.  Along with a dozen other complications including crane lifting equipment down into the pit and maintaining safety, it's just not a simple thing.  But it IS being addressed and it looks like work may get started in the spring (repairs are weather sensitive).

btw, Townsend is putting a data center on the lower level.

The lower level is going to feature a 'bistro-style bar' called The Clubhouse Experience, that will have 6 TopGolf Swing Suites.

I've always hated how the courtyard got chained off from the public, so I'd be happy to see it opened up

Is there an accessible entrance? That might be one reason why.

We own a condo there but now live in the burbs, kids....however, yes it will be public and all 4 tower elevators go to the basement level. It was proposed by the original developer of WST. It will be a bistro style bar and restaurant with top-golf suites. Completion is anticipated in 3rd quarter of 2019. As an owner I really like the concept and its a great use of what was otherwise dead space for a long time. Also, Charisse use to be the closest hangout so getting something downstairs that offers a different theme will be a good balance.

This is great! This part of the CBD is in desperate need of more ground floor retail. Glad to hear it's open to the public.
