The Second Board of Trade Building
Re: The Second Board of Trade Building
Will new tall narrow buildings ever be built on the sites of tall narrow demolished buildings that became narrow surface lots?

No. I don't know where I found this. It was in a folder I was looking through last night looking for something else. The folder holds stuff I've found over the years. It could have come from any number of sources.

I think Cordish's One Light answers that question. Depending on the parcel, you would need access to an off-site parking garage, and/or really good mass transit because many narrow lots are too small to provide residents with on-site parking. Also high demand for housing, and rents that can support construction costs.

Found another old photo in my files of the Board of Trade taken from Quality Hill. The Coates House Hotel in the foreground. The New York Life Insurance Building is on the top right. No idea the year taken, or where I originally found this.
