Re: 909 Wyandotte
decent considering anything would be an improvement to that corner.
Re: 909 Wyandotte
Not sure who the developer is though. KEM developed the rendering though, which is great.

Re: 909 Wyandotte
There is no developer yet. Rick Powell is just filing a plan with the city that he can then turn around and try to sell to a developer--I assume after he gets City approval.

Well alright then, guess I got excited over nothing.
Re: 909 Wyandotte
I don’t know, I think it’s exciting. I wish every empty lot in the north loop and east village had a preliminary rendering for it that investors could easily plug their money into.

Good point, that would be nice.JBmidtown wrote:I don’t know, I think it’s exciting. I wish every empty lot in the north loop and east village had a preliminary rendering for it that investors could easily plug their money into.

Re: 909 Wyandotte
But it doesn't appear that he plans to build it. He is getting out of real estate.
It doesn't mean this plan will be built. Another property owner could buy it just for the parking, or come up with a completely different plan entirely.A redevelopment proposal that would allow construction of a five-story apartment or hotel project above an existing garage at Ninth and Wyandotte has been filed with the city as part of a plan to sell the property.
Rick Powell wants to sell the former John’s Garage at 913 Wyandotte and adjoining vacant McWhirter Printing Co. building at 915-917 Wyandotte.
To make the deal more appealing to a potential buyer, he’s seeking city approval for a commercial redevelopment plan called 909 Wyandotte.

Re: 909 Wyandotte
I also noticed there was a big sign across the street to the west advertising the surface parking lot for sale. It's 205 W. 9th on the parcel viewer.

Re: 909 Wyandotte
Seems strange that a hotel would sell off its' parking.
Re: 909 Wyandotte
Word on the street is the garage on the southeast corner of 9th and Wyandotte is under contract and the lot is to become apartments. I started a separate thread, but we should perhaps continue here. I have no reason to believe the above drawings are what's intended for the site. My understanding is Rick Powell paid KEM to draw that as a concept. Fingers crossed Mr. Powell is not involved in this project.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if this is where Opus decides to redeploy after the failure of the Faultless Linen site?
Neighbors (*raises hand*) will have a keen interest in this project if this proves true. It's the last missing tooth on the block and there are lots of nearby residences that look onto the front and back of the site. Looking forward to this garage going away.
