Chicago firm joins KC coworking rush with purchase of downtown building

Chicago-based Level Office bought the seven-floor Kessler Building at 1301 Oak St. and plans to renovate it for use as private offices and coworking space.
I always knew this as the Mutual Building. Does anyone know when it was renamed the Kessler Building?
Wasn't this going to be converted to a Holiday Inn? I remember when it housed Civic Plaza National Bank in the seventies and the owner was proposing to build a 52 story office tower across the street where the courthouse is.
