I’m sorry my post was so terribly confusing that it needed technical clarification.

I hope that someone develops the three parking lots in the near vicinity (across 16th, next door and catty corner across from the Residence Inn garage). If they don't get developed now, I know that they will in the future but the momentum needs to keep building along the Streetcar line. City Club Apartments just began down the way, Three Light will begin soon (hopefully) and this Hampton Inn adds more hotel space to the crossroads. All of these will help businesses and the addition of hopefully more buildings around the streetcar will only strengthen this area. I also like the size of this Hampton Inn. It isn't small but it isn't large. It adds density. The blank brick wall is depressing but it all makes sense because, as stated, maybe they know that someone will come in and acquire the calverts tire place and build something.

Those lots are all owned by one person who just provided the land for this Hampton Inn, except for the one on the SW corner of 16th & Main (which is Helzberg).

The most likely scenario to the north is someone acquires the Calvert's and the parcels to the south and does a proper mixed use development.

Building is topped out and masonry is going up on the facade.

This already looks better than any Hampton Inn I've seen.

Will be interesting to see how the Starbucks does there. So much coffee nearby, but so little of it available after 6pm. Most hotel Starbucks are open later (like the one in the Crowne Plaza).

Also, f*ck those lots!

It will do fine. I, for one will walk past multiple coffee shops to get to a starbucks and there are many like me.

Even though I don't live in KC, I was told that a residential proposal came and went for the parking lot across 16th from this. Not sure why it went away. It may have been mentioned on here but I was told in more detail by someone familiar with it.

The most likely reason is financing fell apart.

I like this building more than I did when the plan came out. The stone in the front looks nice and it doesn’t look as cheap as I imagined a Hampton Inn would.

I believe that was previously mentioned somewhere. There was a kurfuffle about this being crossroads first *bucks
