Not sure I've ever seen Hampton Inns that close to each other.

Antons "parking"? Seems the lots across main are pretty intact as parking lots until those apartments can find an alternative.

Anton's doesn't own the parking lot so it's the most logical one. I's one of the many Walnut Creek Ranch properties, which we know is Helzberg.

The other two corners are NICHOLSON BRADLEY. They own the entire 1600 block of Main except that one Helberz lot and the building Anton's is in. I bet the lots are just leased to the apartment buildings.

Either entity selling to groups that will actually build something other than a parking garage is a good sign.

Downtown KC is significantly short on hotel rooms compared to similar sized cities. But even so, those who have the weakest product (in their category) perhaps should be replaced by those raising the bar. If any don't survive, it might be about distance from streetcar or convention center and not quality of hotel (for its category).

Is possible another 1000 rooms in addition to those announced could impact convention center hotel that City has a stake it, which is why I think that hotel should be residential/hotel combo so that residents can help with operating expenses during slow times.

Crossroads people should be using Nicholson to fight against crap hotels instead of using his powers to fight against quality bars.

Is this the second wave Dave mentioned, or are there other things happening too?

The quality of that project is much higher than I imagined it would be. The balconies are a nice touch.

I hope they don't allow the driveway onto main. Especially since the lobby circle for vehicles is positioned in the back on the alley-side. Just use the alley.

Looks better than I thought it would but awnings over sidewalk would give it much more character than one might think.
