I *think* that is the new hotel.

You are correct, that is the new hotel. You can see from 71 Highway the elevator/stair shaft rising already.

So are there two different high rise construction projects going on at Hospital Hill right now?

The hotel is a 4 story La Quinta. The CM Research Tower is the only project with any height currently going up in HH

This is not the best photo, since I was shooting into the sun, and the window was dirty. The new Childrens Mercy Hospital tower is rising above the surrounding medical center buildings.

Windows are going up on the CHM tower. They're pouring the 5th new floor with what looks like two to go.

It's gotten tall enough that I can now see it from my office at 30th & Main. I wasn't expecting that.

They just raised the elevator core another floor. How many more to go on top of that?

Hospital leadership updated staff at CMH that they are either looking into constructing decked parking at the current offsite facility or buying property around the newly constructed garage on 22nd (that admittedly is too small) and constructing another garage for the influx of staff as the research building comes online.

I also noticed they have demolished the parking garage that sits on E. 22nd between Charlotte and Holmes.
