Residential has shorter floors, we’re used to office conversions downtown. Go compare One Light to an old office tower next to it for the same thing.

the last building I worked in, my phone called 4 floors 6 in terms of stairs climbed.

The brick is going up. It looks like a beige color. They may plan to stain it or something, otherwise it will be a pretty big departure from the concept.

With those dusk renderings it is hard to get an accurate sense of the color. If you look at the bottom of this image where there is more lighting, you can see the brick looks tan. I also seem to remember seeing an alternate day time rendering that looked more tan.

A yellow beige is indeed the final color

The light brick is disappointing. Dark brick more sharp looking but absorbs more sun/heat. The KC Way often seems to favor practicality over aesthetics unfortunately (re: MCW).

This is one of the more bizarre pages I've seen. The photos are all so good but I especially like that out of focus, low contrast image near the bottom. Very artfulterra-y.

When I saw that picture before, and I thought the brick was dark, but now that I see it again I realize it was beige/tan in all those renderings. Tricky.

I was pretty disappointed the first time I saw it, but now I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. I think it will look pretty good among all of the red brick buildings in the area, even if it doesn't look very good by itself. And the south side looks like it will be a metallic cladding which might work with the brick color. Fortunately, it's also not as tall as I suspected.

I took this before an event at the kauffman center on Sunday. I think arterra could end up fitting into the area nicely. The roof height seems to line up with union station, the sweeney school building, and the IRS post office building at this angle. It's even low enough that the frieze of library memorial can be seen. I won't make my final judgment until after the scaffolding is off, though.

Sorry for the abysmal picture quality...

Got to walk through here and took lots of pictures. Some of these are from the crossroads hotel, so stay tuned for shots of it.

Thanks for posting. Love the views. Off subject but what project is the red crane to the east of the Loew's hotel development working on?

Scaffolding is coming down, starting on the north. Should look a lot different very soon with the blond brick.
