Right after the primary? Yes.

If anything it could get people talking about how the mass subsidization of development the Kansas side is kind of the serious issue/foil. I think generally this forum is pro-infill development and tax breaks on a case by case basis. However, time after time Kansas counties throw tons of tax incentives at suburban "mini-urban" center developers and sometimes again to lure companies' jobs over the border from Missouri.

I don't think these maps are particularly up-to-date or complete. Here are a few things I noticed off-hand: seems to be missing Hyatt House, Cambria Hotel, Muehlebach, and Tracks 215. Strata is just called "future office tower" without any details.

It wasn't current when it was created. This map is 1-2 years old now.

This map is dated May 2019. Those projects do show up on the tracking sheets found on the same web page.

This development map looks pretty much up to date, though some complete still marked under construction...

Let me know which ones. Harder to keep straight while not in KC.

With all the working from home and social distancing edicts, is construction continuing on KC projects or have (will) the sites close down?

As far as I know, no changes for construction here.

Boston just ordered all construction sites closed by March 23. So, it could change

The city isn’t sending non-essential staff out as I heard.

That would include inspectors, right? They wouldn’t send someone to inspect a plumbing job that isn’t an emergency break fix.

So that stops all projects as steps are concluded.

Developers Leave the Light On for Downtown Hotel Projects
Even though the local and national hospitality industry is being hammered by the Covid-19 pandemic, developers pursuing new downtown hotels remain undaunted, anticipating there will be room for their projects once the crisis is over.

That I would agree with. There's a pent up demand for travel right now.

Have mentioned I'm invested (private equity/loans) into an independent Marriott operations group, not in KC market. Just got most recent results from them. Interstate hotels have recovered pretty well but downtown hotels have struggled given they tend to be relatively more tied to events. Even so, the worst performing hotel downtown performed as follows this year...

Occupancy
Jan-Feb: Over 75%
March: 40%
April: 12%
May: 27%
June: 60%
July: 50%
Aug: 62%
Sept: 65%
Oct: Over 70%

Nov/Dec: Expected to be lower partly because COVID cases are picking back up and restrictions are anticipated.

Would be interesting to see downtown KC numbers.

Damn, I was hoping they'd eventually move it somewhere else.

Heard expanding RM might be tied to closing another in downtown so it could be a wash
