Yo, it's nice to hear someone else is looking at the map of downtown development that I've kept up with for the last couple of years. Sometimes I wonder if it is just me looking at it.

With the streetcar extending south, I've thought about opening it up past 31st (which is what I personally think of as the southern border of downtown). I'll start to add things that come up, and over time add in the historical ones as well. Eventually, I'll get it comprehensive.

I look at it often as well. Thank you @KCDowntown!

Anyone with the chops that can build a heat map based on development dollars for the KC metro?

This map shows development planned/in progress (blue) around CBD/Loop, development sites (orange) and residential buildings (violet/purple).

This must be an old diagram because I see at least six announced, or finished, projects not shown. The Drury Inn - Board of Education redevelopment at 12th and McGee; the Hyatt House Hotel at 9th and Broadway; the Muehlebach / Clubhouse Lofts redevelopment, which includes a new building at 13th and Wyandotte; the 905 Broadway Lofts; 304 W. 10th Lofts; and the Oggi Lofts at 6th and Central. There is also that apartment building over garage proposal on the SE corner of 9th and Wyandotte, but I can't remember if that is still viable.

I don't know where else to post this, so I decided to post this here. I took the first photo on June 22nd, 2015 from the Link Bridge by Union Station. It is below.
Image

This second photo was from September 30th, 2018 from the same location and it's shocking to see how many things have been built (with even more in the pipeline). Next year, I expect a crane to be up at Three Light, the 1800 project to be underway and Hotel Bravo to have a crane up. I also expect to see City Club making an appearance in this view.

Since the first photo was taken...
COMPLETED

^Nice! You should do this every year or two to track progression!

I mean, how 'real' is Hotel Bravo, especially with much less incentives? I think DaveKCMO said their incentive request was a pipe dream.

I know for sure I'll do a photo next summer. By then, Loews will have more of an impact and 1800 Walnut should be peaking out. Three Light should also have a crane so the next photo should be just as nice.

City Hall advances downtown office projects that could attract 1,800 jobs
With the Kansas City Council’s endorsement Thursday, the city is moving steadily toward a deal on two major office projects in downtown and the River Market that could accommodate a combined 1,800 jobs.

Council members signed off on two ordinances allowing City Manager Troy Schulte to negotiate development agreements for the buildings. One would be at 3rd Street and Grand Boulevard and the other on the southwest corner of 13th and Main streets. Developers on both projects are pursuing tax incentives from Port KC.

908 Baltimore (The LaRue Printers Building) has a tenant finish permit today on CompassKC for converting the first floor to a cafe. There are no details in the permit on what cafe it will be. But it does indicate that the architect is Hermanos Design, who's recent work includes Mildred's in the Crossroads and Made in KC on the Plaza.

908 and 912 are connected on the first three floors. I want to see how they reconfigure the space.

Some are easily impressed. Infill is nice in lieu of height.
