So it will encompass the Midwest Hotel Building, the now vacant lot to the north (new construction), a one story restaurant on the lot to the south, and from the renderings, it appears the entire lot behind (east of the Midwest Hotel) will also be part of the apartment complex (new construction)?

I guess a parking structure somewhere on the property will be part of the development?

Looks like a great project!
The scope also includes that existing three story building w/ the adjoining metal shed in the left side of the photo. They have begun some demo work on it already. So, everything you said was correct but the now-vacant portion to the north of the former hotel will be larger.

Pretty rough right now for Gown Gallery and Affare, surrounded on all sides by construction and scaffolding. Please support them!

The old/new Dixie Belle building next to Affare is being dismantled. The third floor is gone and the second floor is half gone.

Remember when Royals Stadium had the round community low sinks? Many thought they were urinals and pissed in them.

Saw that happen at Arrowhead once decades ago. Everyone was using it as a urinal and one "brave"? guy pushed he way between everyone so he could wash his hands.

I made that mistake as a kid. Mainly because there were about 8 other guys doing the same thing.

So, the Dixie Belle was where The Rieger is located, correct? That is what I remember from the early to mid 90s. At one point did it move across the street?

I guess I could ask my next door neighbor, he is "Missie B" and was the owner. He's a nice guy!

Done. Had a great meal at Affare while in KC. My first trip there. Great food. It was a Saturday night and the place was about one third full. But it's a very large place. Does it ever fill up?

It appears all of the demo and gutting of the Midwest Hotel is now complete. The underground garage is the current focus.
