Yep, Kaldi open until 8 Thurs - Sat I think. There is of course Thou Mayest as well. Haven't tried the new Spokes yet but they may become another option.

Was REALLY hoping the new Roasterie in Corrigan Station would have "normal" coffee shop hours, or closer at least. Closes at 6. Boo.

P.S. maybe on it's way out already....stopped by this weekend and they had no gin, no specialty alcohol to make 3 of their speciality drinks.

how are we feeling about tavernonna and P.S.? i frequent tavernonna, but find P.S. to be a little rough around the edges when there are far better cocktail programs (and service) in greater downtown.

Prime spot that maybe deserves better.

Before the 80s, top chefs were dependent on the hotels funding top restaurants. Since the 80s chefs have been able to get loans or investors of their own, breaking away from the hotel control. But this is one location that would be great for a top local chef, any of handful local James Beard category chefs willing to work with hotel ownership.

Last time I went to PS they didn't have like 1/2 their drinks available due to no ingredients. I figured they were going to shutter it.

Tavernonna is fine for a drink....their pasta isn't what I was hoping for quality wise.

i'm a big fan of the $10 lunch menu, which is relatively new. you should give it a shot if the pasta didn't impress. my soup/sandwich combo last week was very good for that price.

i'm told the ballroom flooded recently and ruined the coffee shop and a banquet space below. should be closed for about a month.

My parents made reservations for Tavernonna for Christmas Eve night with a gift certificate I gave them. They took the reservation, but were closed when they showed up. :(

These past few days were my second time at this hotel. I quite like it. Rooms are nice sized with some older details around the edges, lobby is nice, and staff is nice.

That lobby screams Art Deco and I couldn’t be happier about it

When conditions are right, could see this property becoming a 5 Star flagged boutique some day. Downtown could use one. Might have to join some rooms into larger suites. And provide top tier concierge service.

The lobby is 5*. The rooms are 3.

^Right, obviously there would need to be upgrades with both rooms and level of service. High art in hallways also common in 5 stars.

I thought the same. Could’ve tried a little harder on rooms for sure.

The updates that could be done to the room to make them better, in my view, is change the orientation of the beds if possible. I don't really like them being up against the windows like that. I do find the elevators a little slow for a 20 floor building, so they could increase the speed on them a little bit and maybe make them a little bit brighter inside. Also, maybe update the TV to something a little bit more up to date (like where you can send what's on your phone to the TV, watch 4k shows and movies, and what not).

Beyond that though, I found the rooms to be pretty nice. Not 5 star nice, but 3 star (as it should). 3 stars aren't all that bad but this hotel definitely has the capability to be much nicer.

I didn't see the point of the beds being up against the windows either.

Since this is nearly unheard of in hotels, I suspect they didn't have a choice?
