I noticed a certain local developer with significant River Market holdings posted an instagram photo of 906 today. Totally agree it would make for a very attractive office/residential/hotel. Glad to see Grand may finally be picking up a little.

I'm glad to see those UMB buildings being considered for more active uses.

I'm hoping this prompts some action with the block just north. That parking garage is awful and the scarritt building's cornice is being held up with stilts. I think the arcade is pretty much empty too

Wasn't the Scarritt Building supposed to get renovated for apartments?

Wasn't the Scarritt Building one of the very first renovations in Downtown?

Scarritt is not apartments. I think there are only a few tenants in there. Also, some of the ironwork along the base has deteriorated

Wayne Reeder owns it, and it is office. Someone did buy it a few years back for an apartment conversion that never happened.

I remember there was a biz journal article where the current owner described the purchase as "like robbing a bank!" but suggested the place was in immaculate shape, which gives the impression that there are problems they aren't even aware of.

I worry about that place

This is a great building, especially inside. Sad to see it's not maintained given the momentum in general downtown.

One of my personal favorites. Beautiful ornamentation. Hopefully someone with a vision will come in and do something great to it. I have a feeling that one of the problems it faces is being next door to that blasted garage

If Reeder, or any future owner, is going to renovate the Scarritt, they better do it soon because I am worried that the legislature is going to gut historic tax credits and also housing credits. They seem determined to do it. The same goes for the UMB buildings to the south.

I'll get on it!

With regards to pokemon go, I remember union station became a major hub for that game and they swiftly capitalized off it.

That is, of course, the soul reason they can afford all the exterior work being done to the building.

We toured the Scarritt a few years ago, the arcade side was in great shape, the east side not so much.

I think the arcade gets used regularly as an event space, so it makes sense it would be cleaned up. It's still woefully underutilized for being such a unique building.

Does anyone know what is going on with this building at 408-410 Admiral (at Page Street)? I saw a sign on the side that referred to it as The Jewel. It used to be Admiral Properties, and also had an old sign on the east side of the building that read Pool & Canfield Inc..

I noticed the windows have been replaced.

Didn't that building used to be a nightclub? With a rooftop patio?

I'm so happy it's being renovated, but... what is that?
