So, is something on fire in the West Bottoms? I'm seeing a lot of smoke coming from that general direction....

Fox 4 says it's 4th and Washington - near where 4th street connects Beardsley to the City Market, I think. There's a few apartment buildings around there.

guess it should be in a different thread. apologies.

If you have to ask, you clearly shouldn't live there.
Thanks for the tip. Anybody who isn't feeling like an asshole know what a wet deck is?

From Tuesday's Plan Commission's docket:

"Case No. 14676-P-- About 2 acres generally located between W 9th Street on
the north, Liberty Street on the east, St. Louis Avenue on the south and
Wyoming Street on the west, to consider rezoning the site from District M 3-5
Manufacturing 3 (dash 5) to District DX-7 (Downtown Mixed Use, (dash 7).

Applicant: MCM Company, Inc., repr. Lathrop & Gage LLP"

I looked up MCM Company, Inc. They are out of Cleveland and do construction management and development. Anyone know what may be going on there?

It's the project mentioned back on page 11 of this thread, to convert the six buildings on the south side of Ninth into apartments.

I think this Biz Journal article is the only real source of info so far.

Correct, conversion to apartments is what I heard as well.

I noticed a new restaurant named "West Bottoms Kitchen" being renovated in a building a couple doors south of Voltaire. Couldn't find any additional info online about the place.

Hmm, micro apts work well when the immediate surrounding neighborhood has so many amenities it is an extension to your home so needing less space, like along streetcar line or on Plaza.

Just received a financing package for this deal. Projected groundbreaking in Fall 2016.

A resort style pool, swim up bar, outdoor TVs, wet deck, and an “outdoor living room” inclusive of fire pits, commercial grade grills (& BBQ Smoker), and outdoor furniture. A dog walk and grooming area will also be part of the project.

Apartments will showcase 9-foot and & 10-foot ceilings, luxury wood-style flooring in kitchens, 42-inch cabinets, quartz countertops in kitchens, patios/balconies, spacious showers (and select units with soaking tubs) upgraded carpet in bedrooms, front load washer/ dryer, microwave oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal and double-door, frost-free refrigerators, pendant and decorative track lighting (kitchens), over-sized windows.
