KCTV5 is claiming it was in the garage, so hopefully the rest of the building is in better shape.

Construction crews are back on the job today, looks like the fire had minimal impact.

developer was at the parking and transportation commission today seeking approval to add angled parking on mcgee. while presenting, he noted some details i hadn't seen reported:

- electric car-charging stations on-street and in the garage
- five restaurants, including one that would enclose the bus pull-in on mcgee (30K sf of retail)
- full restoration of the clock!

5 restaurants! Wow that is bold, hopefully it all pans out.

Five restaurants on that block will change that area a lot. One of the biggest deficits downtown has been suitable space for restaurants in older buildings--since renovated spaces would probably be cheaper to rent than space in a new building (Power & Light District).

I wish the developer could pry 318 E. 10th Street out of the hands of Abnos (Abdiana), and redevelop that building with Pickwick. I'd also like to see them buy that surface lot on the SW corner of E. 9th and Oak and put up a new building there.

How many cars can they even fit in that tiny lot? Maybe 25 if valet, less if self park.

Yea, I was wondering the same thing as well. Not really sure what it is - there were multiple scaffolding structures on the roof.

Took a tour this am with Historic KC. Think this is going to be a spectacular space when they're done. Lots of effort to restore/replicate the original plaster finishes. They are restoring the 2 story foyer. Apparently they retrofitted in the 70's and added a floor. Hard to picture at this stage in the project, but seems like it will be sort of an arcade, with retail lining the second story balcony of the foyer. They are also utilizing one of the old bus ramps as the basis for the pool.

Great representatives of all the parties involved. I really want this finished now!

two of them! the 1BR corner unit and the 2BR next to it, both in the north tower.
