Wow, that is incredibly disappointing. Wonder what the issue is?

Was hoping for a good casual brunch spot in the loop, and further would love to be able to go to Eggtc. for breakfast tacos more frequently, as you know you would always be able to skip the line at 51st and walk right into a downtown location :)

This would be a prime time for First Watch or another breakfast/lunch/brunch or 24 hour diner concept to take this spot. There a lot of residential coming online shortly between QH/Crossroads/Downtown/City Market/CoPark.

I'm wondering if it wasn't an issue with the location itself. Lot of new development happening in other parts of downtown and some nice new retail spots coming online soon. Perhaps they just decided to hold out for a better spot with fewer challenges?

New sign up "Broadway Bistro"...ran by 39BevCo which doesn't instill much confidence in the quality of food.

Broadway Bistro Adds Jazzy New Vibe to Quality Hill Corner
A new bistro and speakeasy bar with plenty of live music on the side have opened in a historic Garment District building at 10th and Broadway in the Quality Hill neighborhood.

Broadway Bistro, which offers a full-service breakfast, lunch and dinner menu all week including a Sunday brunch buffet, debuted a week ago and is planning an open house event Nov. 22. It’s on the first floor of the building at 1000 Broadway.

The bistro was preceded by Hush, a basement speakeasy that seats 120 people, that opened about a month ago.

Is having a jazz trio or quartet performing during your meal considered the pinnacle of restaurantdom?

Hush sounds like a name for a speakeasy in a Stefon sketch on SNL. "KC's hottest club is "Hush," an intimate basement speakeasy that seats 4,000 people amidst the ruins of crying former businesses associates and over 6,000 conceptual drawings for various iterations of the Garment House. Guests are encouraged to sit in silence and "Hush" as they sip on one-of-a-kind cocktails such as Bud Light Limerita or the thawed and blended remnants of meat freezers from concepts past."

Have youse guys been there yet or just being harsh on the description. Sounds fine and downtown loop could use some off beaten places to eat outside mainstream P&L. Will be a good option for the convention area hotel visitors looking to escape P&L, and for Quality Hill residents. Then again, maybe it's lame, haven't been there yet.

I've walked by it. They did nothing to the space. They threw up coming soon signs and were open 3 weeks later. They didn't even advertise it as a dinner place but now they are doing dinner too....it's just a weird thrown together thing.

My guess is the other event spaces that have opened have put a cramp on them so they are scrambling to find income replacement.

^Ah, yeah, see what you mean. But it might survive with Quality Hill residents if the food is decent, could turn into a neighborhood hangout. And the hotel visitors who want something other than P&L to walk to.
