It is possible they had a call somewhere else.  But there still should have been an officer or three in a car at the bollards on Grand.

I got a reply from the Bike Patrol supervisor.  The problem is that state law limits the number of days each officer can work and the 9 days of Garth Brooks concerts makes it difficult to cover them all, so they have reduced staff during the mid-week concerts and will be back to full force by the weekend.

He also acknowledged that the vagrants have probably noticed the reduced presence and are taking advantage so he'll be directing the staff they do have to pay particular notice to those problem areas.

FOX news this morning is doing a piece on cars being broke into during the concerts at Sprint.  They were so happy to report something negative, you could see it on thier faces.
I'll have what the gentleman on the floor is having.

Wait a few days and check the car theft statistics for Johnson County -- say around Oak Park Mall.  Then email the general manager of Fox News and ask them why they didn't run a story about that at the top of the news.  Ask them why they don't run car theft stories every day at the top of the news, and why are car thefts at Sprint Center are more significant than say Legends or on Metcalf.

Perhaps we should form some sort of informal media oversight committee to flood them with email every time they do something like this.  Their crime coverage would then appear to be selective.

Personally, I'm quite fatigued at the over-emphasis on crime coverage on local TV news.  They devote too many minutes to it each day over other significant stories.
There is no fifth destination.

especially FOX, which has waaaaay too much time devoted to local news broadcasts and then wastes it on crime, "try if before you buy it", and network programming tie-ins.

I'm no rocket scientist, but I don't think he's a cop.  I think he works for the CID.  Is it grammer or grammar?
