I heard a rumor that the Farmhouse was leaving the current location and 'moving south.' When I asked if that meant south as in down the street, to the Crossroads or to Johnson county? The person said that's all they knew, other than they decided they couldn't afford the increase in rent. Anyone else hear anything?

Boy we are tired of hearing this ongoing circulating non truth. From the horse's mouth: they are very happy staying and both the Farmhouse and Landlord are working to make the opportunity even better. And BTW, there is no increase in rent.

What's the cause of the rumor? Did they start it maybe for leveraging rent negotiations? It's a good fit for Delaware but also could do well over in Longfellow, likely to stay cheap for a while.

My guess is they can probably cover rent on just their weekend brunch crowd. That spot near the market is golden.

Not sure that's the entire story, but glad to hear you and the Farmhouse worked things out! As a River Market resident I would have been really disappointed to see Farmhouse leave.

I was told that there were negotiations that included possible rent increase or space decrease in the RM location and that is where the "rumor" began. That along with the fact the Farmhouse owners were working on a second (or only if the Delaware lease thing didn't work out) location along 39th street.

I was there on Friday - rather hilariously, one of the things I bought there to bring home was a Missouri-bottled beer (from Side Project).

Anyway...KC having a food hall actually open would be great. For all the talk about various places potentially being food halls, you'd think that somebody would have opened one by now. :-)

I got the impression that the new Delaware building was going to be more of a market than a food hall, like the Minneapolis Midtown Global Market or the Milwaukee Public Market.
