It's a smaller building, but contributes so much to the block, and is really a lovely old building.

they've been working on some structure on the back side, could be for a stairwell. it's cinder blocks and then they coated it and painted it a dark red.

It is an elevator for access to the upper floors.

Regus will offer office space in Cosby Hotel building
The Regus Group Ltd. leased two floors in the newly restored Cosby Hotel building, at Ninth and Baltimore streets in Kansas City, to serve as flexible workspace.

The 12,000-square-foot lease will give Regus its ninth executive suite location in the Kansas City area and its first inside the Downtown loop. The company is taking the second and third floors of the hotel building.
