Not much different from the outside but didn't take a close peak inside the papered up windows.

keep seeing steam. and yesterday they unloaded some more finishing touch construction supplies in a side door.

recently also opened up the pit on the west end and temp covered it. not sure what that was about. I remember from 2009 they filled in the old basement on the west end where they took out part of the structure.

Noticed that the sign for Sasha's Baking Co. is up on the building. I remember back in July when an article stated that they hoped to be open by August...little bit late, but still excited to see that building alive again.

Here is the Facebook link: https://www.facebook.com/sashasbakingco

The deli sign is going up. super classic corner sign, will really stand out for pedestrian traffic

the baking co's twitter says they're opening on the 21st. their sign is pops once you turn the corner. saw them peeling the paper off the windows, their seating was all setup too and looks really classy.

if this matches the quality of the food they'll both be good to have downtown

foot traffic right there is pretty sparse...hopefully this helps bring people to that stretch.

That could be a pretty sweet little stretch for restaurants if there was more housing built in and around the Tower Properties' parking compound. It's a charming block--especially if they could replace that garage and fill in the surface parking spaces west of the Cosby Hotel with another small building. I'd love to see W. 9th Street filled in all the way to Broadway.

Streetview of buildings I wish had retail or restaurants in them.

this is an area I know about

don't expect retail at the SW corner of 9th and Wyandotte. that garage was designed to have a larger structure built on top of it. was originally going to happen with the union carbide project so right now the whole setup is shared resident/office parking. it's the garage for much of baltimore place too. when that new england building condo conversion happens it's where they'll stick the resident parking

the lot you have next to the cosby hotel is owned by the union carbide condo association. it's definitely not going away

the lot behind the kansas city club is for the condos next to the old mcwhirter printing building. I could see it being built on with a larger garage on the opposite side of it

the mid con parking lot is used by the same places.

New retail across from these places would be nice in those existing buildings. Isn't there a florist there now?

Probably goes without saying that if you're looking for a sandwich and end up at 10th and Broadway instead of walking 3 blocks to 9th and Baltimore, you're doing it wrong.

But why would you walk when you could just go to the drive-thru?

The Savoy renovation coupled with this development should really help out the north loop. Now just fill in some of that parking, preferably not with drive-thrus.

The flashcube building supposedly has a tenant lined up too. I would imagine the Milwaukee Deli would be a popular lunch option for anyone working there.
