Consolidating sub-forums?

A suggestion .... when there's a sub-forum that has few messages, people may be reluctant to post there, fearing that they won't get a response. Also, they might think that messages posted there won't get read as much.

I've had more success with bulletin boards that have a small number of very busy sub-forums versus a large number of relatively slow sub-forums.

Ever think about consolidating some of the slower sub-forums to create larger, busier forums? Is there really a need for an "18th and Vine" sub-forum, or could discussion about that area be incorporated into a larger forum?

Yeah I'm always thinking about what to add/subtract. What I don't want is a too large of a forum that scrolls a page with new posts. Most visit proabably once a month and if a forum has 2 pages of new posts, the ones on page 2 probably won't get read.

Saying that I'm all for consolidation.....18th & Vine would be a good one...any more? I know some of them in "General KC" could be cut easily.

I like what you've done...as Cyburbia mentioned, it's always better to err on the side of having too few different forums. If you think people are frightened off by 2 pages of threads, you should think of how they feel when they see too many seperate forums.
