I was asked the other day how much money I get paid by the streetcar people. The answer is zero. It would be zero even if I supported it.

Have you ever been on other forums? Most of them are ugly, i can't think of a single forum that is snazzy and in need of a facelift

That's true, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

You should have been around for the streetcar talks, bahua. I'd have been interested to hear your take. I was pretty meh about it for quite a while, myself, but Dave managed to persuade me that realpolitik should prevail.

this tech forum actually spent a lot of time getting spacing, font size, touch targets and such right. it's super simple and it works that way. it's phpbb and doesn't have a mobile version, they just got the stylesheet right to the point they don't need one

My personal pet peeve about phpBB is how cluttered the overall default layout is. On the standard thread pages, the virtually all of the information on the left column and on the headers/footers of each page doesn't need to be displayed; that information could be safely banished to profile pages or site settings pages in a more elegantly-designed forum system.

Have a look at Artodia: Deluxe in the installed themes. I think it's certainly prettier, though it's a bit to get used to.

I definitely like it better on mobile.

He may be busy with his broken forum.

http://www.lthforum.com/bb/search.php?s ... d=newposts just does a blank page for me.

Sounds like a good idea. I think some custom graphics and whatnot would be nice.

If I could make a suggestion, maybe you guys could look for a responsive theme to fix the tablet/mobile issues, something like this or this. Those are just the first two I found with a Google search. I know these types of design look a bit sparse (and worse) on a desktop, but they fix a lot of compatibility issues.

Just throwing out my two cents.

Edit: I see that the Deluxe theme in the UCP is responsive.
