KC Rag Main Site is back

We are bringing back the KC Rag main site. Every afternoon we'll wrap up the day's news, and point you to the more active threads. We also plan on having blogging by some members relating to Kansas City or urban development in general. If you're interested in submitting a piece, let one of us know.

If you have any suggestions on what you'd like to see on the main site, or out of the forum in general, I'd love to hear any ideas.

Great job to all the folks involved. Nice way of integrating daily news items and whatnot into a coherent listing. My only complaint is that the links redirect you away from KCRag instead of opening a new window. I find that annoying. I also PREY that this isn't another thing that is quickly abandoned as it has a lot of potential in this community.

Pardon the mess while things get straightened out. If stuff looks weird now and then, it's my fault... just trying to get everything set up.

I've gotten accustomed to middle-clicking. Is that not a normal thing?

Thanks to all for getting this back going.....I so wanted to get kcskyscrapers.com back functional again but I just can't find the time to dedicate to it like I once did....I registered that domain 8 years ago.....wow. So cool the "community" is still so successful.

The main site looks awesome! Great work, guys.

I do think we need a link to main site at the top of the forum page, though. So, make it happen!

I tried clicking my heels 3 times and saying, "Like a good neighbor, State Farm is THERE!" But unlike the commercials, it didn't work. My faith is humanity is gone now.

Something needs to be done with the orientation of the linked items on the front page. For all the work put into it...it needs to be more reader-friendly. I'm not sure how, but scanning down each item hurts my eyes. #FirstWorldProblems

A bit overwhelming to keep up. I'm going to try and focus on the guide to downtown although I haven't found the time to work on that either.

IMO the idea of a daily "wrap-up" is a little antiquated anyway. Why not just have a live twitter feed on that page that updates with retweets and new tweets as stuff happens in the city?

Yea, that's probably a good idea. I think AllThingsKC runs the Twitter page.

I'm open to any other suggestions on what we can do to improve the site or use it to improve downtown's visibility.

I am not sure about SMF but phpBB has a bunch of mods to automate front page, it will pull top posts from various forums depending on configuration. Something like this

Thanks. It was also an unusually hectic two weeks for me. I'm going to try to regroup and see what makes sense for me, this site and whoever else wants to contribute.
