Welcome back again!

Post by bahua »

The other forum was *not* working out. There were errors for which there was no useful help online, and the format alone was costing us users. I've decided to change back to SMF, and hope that the new web host is capable of handling the load. The old, "new" forum is still available at http://mybb.kcrag.com for anything you want to grab or move from there to here.

You may notice that all the posts that were made on the mybb forum are not here, as converting proved impossible. There's just too much data to use the special scripts that have been made. The mods have committed to moving the important stuff over, but on the whole, the loss of the last month's record low amount of data was a price we were willing to pay to get the site back to how it was.

Sorry for all the trouble. This is a big pain, and I hope that several months of support have been averted. We'll see. Happy hunting!

this feels right.  I added a "news" item to the top of the forum to hopefully catch people who might be confused.

All these "new" posts from May 14 have me flustered!  I've lost an important chapter in my life.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Absolutely hated the 'new' forum.  It felt like I was cheating on my wife.

It's like seeing an old friend again.

This is a welcome site in my eyes!  The old style was hard to read/follow, IMO.  So, I am glad the forum is back!

Does this mean we'll get the WAP version back?

Thanks for all of your hard work, bahua!

Any way we can get some of the recent photo threads back?  It would be a shame to lose some of the recent photos.
Thanks Mods!

I applaud this move as well, and I know what a pain it must be.  I hadn't logged on yet today and was testing out an old hyperlink...a welcome surprise to see the old forum.

As I said, the stuff that was added in the last month is still available at http://mybb.kcrag.com, and can be retrieved upon request.

Having the forum is back is like that moment when you wake up from a bad dream/nightmare.  You realize that all the bad things that were happening to you in the dream aren't really happening at all.  All is well.  All is normal. Awesome.

Bahua~

As I said in the "MyBB Thread Retrieval Requests" thread, I would like for you to retrieve all of my Watkins Glen thread, which I thought was at http://mybb.kcrag.com/showthread.php?tid=14011

And again, thank you for doing this for me and for all of us, as this must be a nightmare for you. Sometimes you have to feel appreciated within your own soul because you know you were acting in the best interest of those who depend on you.

Asking us to find the threads we want retrieved is a small request in comparison to all you do for us. Only you can know the extent of your great effort and probable suffering.

You are a good man.
