I've just stopped going to the sports forum. Aside from the fact that every other post is from someone I have on "ignore", what's left makes me feel about 50 I.Q. points more stupid after reading it.

And honestly, this board as a whole has been suffering from the same problem for quite awhile now.

the sports forum is usually pretty cool from april til novemberish, then when mu-ku play in football and then big XII basektball gets going, it goes to hell. lots of us are guilty for trashing it.

i can honestly say i am more into the forum when the shit talking is going on then when it is not. seriously, look at the activity on this site, it is much higher when we have something to keep sucking us all in over and over again.

i am rooting like hell for that recall the funk campaign to gain serious momentum, it will create a new non sports topic to make us go crazy, just like the stadium debate did. bring it on!!!!

It's always bad during college sports.  But it ramped up to Mach 9 this year with the KU football story....KSU fans were furuios with the season and MU fans were angry about the Orange Bowl fiasco.


This will all change in April when we unite behind our shitty MLB team.

I guess this is what I see as the decline of the forum. I don't mind honest discussion or debate, but I don't like that some forum members seem to relish the opportunity to argue and look for every opportunity to do so.

Now that our mayor and the economy have completely sucked the life out kansas city development, there really isn't much to talk about besides sports.  Its not much fun to sit around and argue about rail proposals that are destined to go nowhere.  Once P&L and PAC are finished, there won't be any development to talk about at all, at least until the economy bounces back and we have another city election.

I like sports, I just don't know enough about anything to discuss them. I like KU because my family does. And I think the Jayhawk is cute. I couldn't name a single player on their basketball or football team. So, I avoid the sports forum.
