Forum search sucks

The search function here is a total joke.

"2007 predictions" - won't even turn up that thread.

Gee, guess the hamster had to run to fast to turn that engine, eh?

Yep.  Lately I find it faster and better to search by actually clicking on page after page trying to find the right thread and then through screen after screen of that thread, even for posts a year or more ago, than using the current search tool.

I've tried to fix it, and it seems beyond fixing. I'm done trying. Bark up another tree, please. I personally don't think it ever worked well since the forum switched to SMF.

It would be a bigger deal if this forum was like others where you have people restarting new threads on the same subject constantly - but that doesn't seem to be a huge problem here.

When it was KC Skyscrapers the search function worked real good. after the forum moved to the new KCRag and moved to another host the search went South for the winter.

exactly what i do.  i have given up on the search funtion entirely.

I've had problems with it over the years, don't use it often however I think it is more of a
PBCK thing for me than something actually wrong with the search function.
