I guess that it is a default in the program.

I work mostly on my MacBook Pro now, but every once in a while I have to do something on my Windows computer. It's nice because it makes me appreciate my Mac that much more. The madness of working with Windows and the mess of 3rd party apps can be overwhelming.

Short cuts are easy to delete.

Of course they are, but why should anyone have to? Why should any program just assume that of course I want their $#@%$# on my desktop, in the start menu, in the tray and probably on the lid as well if I looked?KCMax wrote: Short cuts are easy to delete.
I especially hate the ones that put shortcuts from piggyback things on my desktop too.

Yeah...just one more reason Windows is irritating as hell. It is simply bad design to allow programs to do stuff without your permission. Also happens to be the main reason Windows is so hackable--up until Vista, at least, and it's (I hear) not that much better.

Vista = XP with heavier graphics use and more confirmation windows.

I have noticed that some of the programs that we use in Win 2000 are slowly being shut down to upgrades. I am reluctantly going to install XP on my machine so that these programs can be upgraded to their full use.
