rumors

This site seems to be hearing a lot of "rumors" of black ass, Cialis, and Pam Anderson's boobs lately - did I just not notice it before or have we been recently discovered by some new spam menice?

Someone has let guests post on the forums...NO geusts should be able to post on forums due to this reason.

I am pretty sure that we can confirm that Pam Anderson does indeed have boobs.

They're being deleted as they're seen. When someone has a chance they'll check the posting settings. Probably tonight.

As I recall, guests have always been able to post rumors, to encourage people to post stuff they might not want attributable back to an account.

i think the value of anonymous posting in the Rumors room is worth a few spam posts, though.

I agree. If something looks like spam, just ignore it. It will be deleted shortly.

For everyone's information, I made some changes on Thursday night that set it so that no guest can ever post, ever ever. It's just not worth the spam. And once the spammers see an open door, they all all their ex-Soviet hit-gurgling IRC channel friends to come and ruin the world for all the real people.

I created a user today and passed the login creds to the mods. If you want to post a rumor, just PM one of the mods, and they will post it in the rumors forum with the new user, called "Rumor Monger." They will keep your identity confidential, even from the other mods and admins.

i rarely even look at the rumors topic, but apparently one can't even *read* the rumors without being logged in. is that the intent?
