There is nothing inspiring about Salt Lake therefore I question the veracity of their entire statement.

The Gaines are very much what one might say country-folk. Almost 180 degrees opposite of the Flip or Flop couple.
They love shiplap.

The New IFC show called Brockmire is based on an Announcer for the Team from Kansas City but I think he then goes to the Minor Leagues for saying bad stuff over the air. The first 3 min were pretty good

@ 2:11 The Late Show skit mentions "Kansas City Reverse" as a jazz style and shows the skyline upside down.

That embodies every evil and uneducated geographical and idiotic stereotype people have about KC.
In 2007 KC is playing Boston but the team jersey everyone is wearing just says "Kansas" on it instead of Kansas City.
The announcer wears a hick polyester jacket and has a vocal twang that's neither southern nor Midwestern - it's just "idiot."

This one might be worse, saw this in the route map of the Aer Lingus Airlines Magazine. Look at page 140-141. It just says "Kansas" for the city name.

It's a fictional comedy.

Fictional indeed hayseed, because "Kansas vs Boston" works as a possible scenario in a fictional MLB game.

This is super common in Europe, where they aren't in the habit of appending "City" to the name of their cities. I mean even Americans often just refer to "New York" and drop "City." Europeans will also refer to "Kansas" (City), "Oklahoma" (City), etc. Weird to note that on that particular map it does name "Oklahoma City" and "Salt Lake City," though.

I worked with some guys from India that did this too. After correcting them a few times I just gave up.

So, this is that annoying Hyundai commercial with some idiot singing Sweet Caroline at the top of his lungs (I recommend turning off the sound if you click the link).

The skyline backdrop is KC - looking at it from the south. The cars in the commercial appear to be somewhere else. The skyline itself is pre Sprint/P&L. I guess it's nice that some creative person somewhere thought our skyline was aesthetically pleasing enough to drop behind a national spot.

Nice catch.
I've seen that commercial and due to my nearsightedness only noticed the buildings in front.
I totally missed the super-imposed KC skyline behind. However, you can also see they super imposed other taller buildings behind KC's skyline.

How can you be sure the skyline view is "pre Sprint/P&L?."

It won't be long before they are personalized instead of localized and you'll see only your favorite buildings in those commercials. Maybe even your house.

^Hehe, indeed (well the wall of potentially similar buildings, not necessarily that it's glass).

Thank you for posting this! My friend insisted I was imagining things when I saw this commercial in a bar last night.

I don't think that's how nearsightedness works. ...
No. You're not understanding. You think it is always about actual distance/depth when it is not.
Video uses a multitude of effects to create depth and distance; shadowing, blur, etc, etc.
In myopia the eyes pick up what is clearest and focuses on it.
Obviously, in video the buildings in front will appear to be the clearest.
The nearsighted eye diminishes things that are not clear in focus.
So even though all of the buildings on a pc screen are the same distance from the eyes, myopia still affects the vision.
Especially if one is not deliberately focusing on the blurred background.
Nearsightedness, or myopia, as it is medically termed, is a vision condition in which people can see close objects clearly, but objects farther away appear blurred. People with myopia can have difficulty clearly seeing a movie or TV screen or the whiteboard in school.
