Grades, yes, but not graduation rates. Someone can graduate with less than ideal grades.

This page either is the most incredible organization on the subject or the guy is crazy biased but I find the findings interesting all the same because it backs up what you thought and then some.

many schools serving blue collar areas like Independence have decent but not great test scores

a white kid from a high income 2 parent family would probably do well in the KCMOSD, a minority kid from a lower income single parent household might not do any better in Blue Valley or Lees Summit, possibly even worse

the LS superintendent probably moved there from the Hickman Mills SD when he got the offer because he thought he'd have an easier more stable job in the LS district

Well, he thought wrong then. He's getting crucified out here. At least he has the full support of the board.
