Does anyone know much about the houses stuck between factories in the North East Industrial District?

A hundred years ago this NE area was a typical residential neighborhood alongside an industrial area.

It's not that much different from that now. Except it had an amusement park in the late 1800's early 1900's. The place has changed little other than the presence of Knuckleheads which itself (despite the old feel) has only been there since 2001 even the building dates to the 19th century.

The amusement park was called Electric Park. The first version was there in the East Bottoms, but it got moved way down south at some point. I believe that version is the more famous one.

There’s a park along Chestnut Tfwy in the bottoms . It was there and the other side. Looks like they ran a road through the site. Wikipedia looks decently accurate that it was open 1899-1906, was abandoned and made into a park in 1925. Looks like it was to promote beer sales. They owned a brewery next door.

In 1907 is moved to the site of today’s apartments at 46th and Paseo. Same owner apparently. Beer not allowed, denied by the city. Partially burned down in 1925. Apartments went up in 1948

Interesting article. Possible that the original houses were brewery worker quarters.

Can’t tell but the header may show electric park

This area is referred to as the "East Bottoms" by locals.

And some of the comments are not informative - the area has undergone MANY changes over the years.
When I was attending Northeast High in the late 70's the area was made up of working poor but there were far more residents and livable housing. The manufacturing jobs had left and that started to negatively affect the industrial building stock.
In the 80's/90's the housing stock went to crap and many left the area.
Now it is almost 100% illegals living there.
