How Many People Live in the West Bottoms?

Writing a coffee review for KCcoffeegeek.com on Blip Coffee Roasters, located in the West Bottoms, and they are about ready to open their walk-up coffee shop which will be open all week. I'm curious how many people actually live in the West Bottoms to be able to sustain a during-the-week business (as opposed to the sheer lunacy that occurs on weekends, especially First Fridays! LOL)

Guessing the official number is pretty small. This site doesn't even include it in their reports: http://www.areavibes.com/kansas+city-mo/livability/

Given the publicity that Bill Haw's new 11-unit project generated, it's hard to imagine there's too much else down there. I'm also pretty sure that whatever small number you find should be increased to account for the artists, etc. that are living in their loft/work space.

Where's the new coffee shop going to be? They may have to rely on the M-F work crowd moreso than residents.

Thanks, guys. The coffee place is Blip Roasters. He has been roasting down there since 2014 in a corner of the Bliss Syrup building. The walk-up cafe is going to be cool and he is moving slowly and methodically, so I think it'll work nicely. He already had the space, and buildout is pretty modest on something this size, so I think he is doing the right thing with it.
