Re: Phase Three Streetcar Expansion

Gondolas are a legit solution, but only with a terrain issue (which is why they're standard at ski resorts and mountainous towns). We are neither and none of our grades are insurmountable for surface transportation like streetcar, light rail or bus. If by "effective" you mean cost effecti...

Main Street has never been more walkable then it is now with all the construction. Can't wait for this to open + new development alongside.

Re: KU/KCK <-----> TSC East/West Transit

I already know the answers/challenges to my rant but.... I am really not interested in this if there is no rail segment and I hate that it takes so much time and money to study bus on routes we already studied multiple times. The process is bloated and no one here can fix it. Omaha is MAYBE the clos...

Re: News from Omaha

Their streetcar is being financed by extending their existing TIF Districts. The process is pretty far along and the ability to create and direct funds from TIF is established as an ability of city council.

For some reason I thought we weren't demolishing B and C yet, but they just issued a bid for that. Also, I have a chunk of the terrazzo if anyone wants to tour it around the city right now! https://imgur.com/a/Qd5tU0H Demo has been a part of the plan since day 1! The blue floor is hard to remove, c...

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press

Downtown KC land is relatively expensive and generally has a higher and better use than being a museum. Museums take up a lot of space and don't make a lot of money. KC doesn't fund their museums the way that other cities and states do. So you see a flight to lower-cost space and certain special fun...

Re: OFFICIAL - KC Star Printing Press

Has anyone offered the building to Tension Envelope? They might have use for the printing equipment and I’m sure the newer building would save them some money on upkeep and HVAC. Then, the Tension Envelope building could be given in trade and renovated for condos/apartments. That’s an amazing build...

Goodwill presented to the Crossroads Community Association today. We don't take formal positions, but there was no stated opposition. I like that they're staying and growing their services, but not excited about the demo. I was told by an GW employee that collapse was a real possibility. Not sure h...

Levi's submitted a tenant finish/remodel application for 441 Nichols Rd. It looks like the former PINK location. I hope it's a large store. That entire corner is looking a little forlorn these days Started visiting Levi's after it was rumored here. They generally are pretty open/welcoming street fr...

Would the airline history museum want to be there? It means all efforts past and present to get things flying are wasted/ended. Big hope/focus of the group has always been to fly the planes. Is this building wide enough to fit planes? The Connie and the L1011 are too big to fit taking measurements f...
