Zona Rosa vs. Boardwalk

i thought boardwalk was going to be more an upscale "lifestyle center." If they're getting a Borders it kind of mixes big-box in there. With Borders coming into Boardwalk and B&N leaving Barrywoods for Zona this is really starting to get confusing. All the tenants are playing musical c...

Target at Ward Parkway

I heard that Target is not connected to the interior of the mall. If this is true, I think that's really stupid. If it was, you could get some stuff at Target, browse the Gap, and then see a movie without moving your car. Most Target stores aren't in malls anymore, but the owners of Ward Parkway sho...

Zona Rosa vs. Boardwalk

I really hope Steiner talks to the big boys instead of the small fries. I think they need Galyan's instead of Dick's and Nordstrom instead of Dillard's. Give the Northland a property to make Jo Co green with envy.

Zona Rosa vs. Boardwalk

Is that KC's second Lexus dealer or is there another one besides Superior? If this is the second it shows that the Northland is really starting to develop STRONG buying power. I'm all for Northland giving Jo Co some real competetion. Go Northland!!!!

Corbin Park (135th and Metcalf)

In the Star today they said that a real estate agent unveiled the anchors to the new Walk at Highpointe mall at 135th and Metcalf. These DEFINITELY aren't confirmed, but this place sounds like it'll be a MAJOR disappoinment. Sears, Von Maur, AMC, and Famous Barr (??!!!) were named as the anchor tene...

Zona Rosa vs. Boardwalk

It looks like there's quite a showdown between Zona and their smaller neighbor. You might have seen this story in the business journal. I really hope Steiner takes out these RED clowns. Steiner seems to build with a purpose and with some style while RED just builds big walls and concrete. The guy fr...

Soutwest hub at KCI

KCTV5 is reporting that Southwest wants to make KCI a hub for their airline. They would add gates when the terminal is renovated. They said that Southwest would take up 2/3 of the entire terminal. Southwest really is a great company and it'd be awesome to see them raise their presence in KC. Go Sout...

New tenant for old Jacobson's

Von Maur = fake Nordstrom Younkers = fake Jones KC really doesn't need either of these guys in town It'd be nice for Hall's to come to Leawood, but then the plaza and CC locations would lose a little cache by having a Jo Co store. But let's not start another Jo Co vs. KC blood bath. It'd be impressi...

New tenant for old Jacobson's

I did a little research on C&B. I think the store size varies based on the location of the store. They have a two-level store in the Bay Area at Broadway Plaza(outdoor upscale mall) that is nearly 27,000 sq. feet. It was recently expanded from 9,000 sq. feet to its current size. The 9,000 square...

Target at Ward Parkway

A columnist in the Star mentioned how excited everyone in his neighborhood was about Target at Ward Parkway. People were happy to not have to drive to the edge of town to shop there. How busy is it in there? It seems like they could really attract a lot of people who live on the plaza too. Could it ...

New tenant for old Jacobson's

As Jacobson's has declared bankruptcy and closed all of its stores it leaves a big hole at Town Center in Leawood. On the news, they reported that the developer was thinking of spliting up the building into various stores. Looking at the building, I think they would have to demolish it and just buil...
