They've been around for a while, but were inactive over the last 6 or 8 months. Just starting to ramp back up again. Sign up for their mailing list and get invites to their parties. So far, they mainly do stuff at Kabal and ReVerse.

Properties on the downtown homes tour

Signs just went up this morning. It looks like the condos at 21 W 10th will be known as 21 Ten. Prudential Lofts & Condos is the agent.

Downtown Homes Tour May 17 & 18

I really like how they are adding all of the other events in addition to the homes tour. The downtown council is doing a great job with this.

Today they started erecting the stage for Saturday night's concert. Can't wait.

Properties on the downtown homes tour

You're right, that is the Life building. But there is one more building between it and the transit center. Pretty tall and skinny. Its being renovated as well. Not sure what the plans are for that one. Notably absent is the Adler building on 10th ST. Happened to notice that its no longer in the MLS ...

Properties on the downtown homes tour

Yep, that's the building next to Club Life. I think read that it will be turned into 59 condos. Ran by there last week and it looks like construction has already started.

Monroe may become lofts, but there is a problem with parking - there isn't any. I heard they were looking at ways to get cars into the basement.

Professional Building and Law Building

Last I read on the Law building, the architects were in the final stages of working with one of the state agencies to get approval for something that I no longer recall. Abbott is still saying the project will get done.

Downtown Homes Tour May 17 & 18

I suspect that this will be a one-time shot to see some of the new properties on the tour - Dakota Lofts, Market View Lofts, 21 W 10, and a few others that haven't actively started sales and marketing yet. Looking forward to getting info about the Market View lofts at 5th & Delaware. I believe t...

Re: Oak Park Mall

I went to Metcalf South over the weekend to go to Sears. Wow - even more of a ghost town than it used to be. On the main floor between Sears and Jones Store, there are maybe 2 or 3 shops still open - I'm betting they'll be gone when their lease is up. Metcalf is starting to look like Indian Springs.

Good downtown article from the Biz Journal

This appeared yesterday: http://kansascity.bizjournals.com/kansascity/stories/2003/04/28/focus1.html I especially like the part of developers offering free retail space in their buildings for businesses. This is a win/win for everyone. Businesses have an incentive to locate downtown. Residents have ...

Carmen's on the Blvd.

One of my favorite Italian places in town. Its basically Garozzo's, but better. Brookside is always crowded, so I was happy that the new location was closer and usually a bit less of a wait. The dipping sauce is good - you'd better like garlic. I haven't quite figured the system out yet either. Some...

Frankie's on the Plaza

Ate at Frankie's this evening. Its a bit small, but has been finished very nicely. We were in there about 7:00 on Sunday and there were only 2 or 3 other tables occupied. The food was pretty good. Seafood, Pasta and meats, all in an Italian/Asian style. Entrees are about $14-$23. The bar looked like...

Downtown KCK - Is anything happening?

Just did a quick search about this to try to find some more info. The group doing the development is called City Vision Ministries. They have sold a good number of the homes in their Turtle Hill development. Next project is to turn the old City Hall into about 50 lofts. This is good news. Maybe ther...

Downtown KCK - Is anything happening?

Does anyone know of any plans to turn around downtown KCK? What is it going to take to turn Minnesota Ave into something like Lawrence's Mass. St? This could be a really great urban street. Will downtown KCK ever be desirable?

OFFICIAL - 909 Walnut construction

Great news. Once again, its nice to see that someone who is willing to do a project like this is willing to spend a little extra for a higher quality project. I think the returns in doing so will far outweigh the initial incremental cost. KC developers take note.

Quite a crowd around lunchtime - from college kids to grandparents. There appears to be huge interest, but its hard to tell who might be serious and who was just looking for a way to sepnd a nice afternoon. I must say, the developer has done a very nice job with the models. They spent big bucks on d...

R&N also has Conover Place, and will have Lighthouse lofts, if and when that ever gets started. Plus, they will be the agent for the Cadillac lofts at 29th & Gillham.

Not sure who is doing Dakota. They were in MLS about a year ago and I believe it was a RE/Max office on State Line.
