Re: Grinders

Yeah, I saw some people with chairs get turned away and I felt bad about saying what I did yesterday. This is the 4th show I've been to there and the first time I've seen people turned away with chairs. Good show though. Although, for as good as the beer selection is inside Grinder's - it's amazing ...

Re: Kansas City is in Missouri...

Hope GRID went to the Old 97's last night - the guitar player mentioned this was his first time singing in "Kansas" and the crowd quickly corrected him.

Every show I've been to there has had some folks with their own lawn/folding chairs - so I take it as a yes.

Re: Papa Keno's open in Brookside

I ate at Waldo pizza last night and over a Schlafly Pilsener (I'm still trying to find one as good as everyone says they are) I've NEVER understood this board's fascination with Schlafly. I think it's piss. I even bought the damn sampler this year and didn't find anything I liked. Their IPA is dece...

And, I will choose to ignore that the same way you ignored the Mihlfield evidence I gave you on the Sweeney thread. We'll get an all star game in 2012 or 2014. I just confirmed it.

Re: Papa Keno's opening in Waldo?

How lame is our city, when this is posted as a rumor? Sometimes I think you just post the "How lame is our city when......" line on every thread. Even when it obviously makes no sense. Watched the MLB all star game at a friend's house last night and he carried in one of the big ass Papa K...

Re: status of draconian Crossroads parking ordinance?

At the Cracker show, Stretch was on stage talking about a petition to keep the venue going. Was this in reference to the parking or something else? I never saw the petition.

As much as I love the General Lee - I was hoping to hitch a ride in Tosspot's Hemp powered car.

Re: Big XII Basketball

anderson stepped in and dealt with the situation immediately and did what (in my opinion) many coaches would be afraid to do. Pretty sure every NCAA coach would have gone with "indefinite suspension" when news came out that a player hit a guy with the butt of a shotgun. one more thing, i ...

Re: Kansas City is in Missouri...

A simple solution to this problem would be for people to not be so juvenile when it comes to state-allegiance. Are we really a bunch of 12 year olds??? This goes for both Kansans and Missourians. It's an imaginary boundary, but some act like it really has an effect on their well-being. I wouldn't h...

i'm surprised Jayhawk Nation hasn't brought this to our attention: MU’s Grimes struck man with shotgun Sorry about that. I was still trying to get my head around all of the "Missouri basketball player can't shoot" jokes and I blacked out for a bit. I'm back now, though. How 'bout that Gri...

Re: The Mike Sweeney Era Is Nearly Over

Interesting how Juan Gonzalez was skewered by fans & media for "packing it in" during his short 2004 stay with the team.  I guess when he does it, he's scum.  When Mike does it, it's a legit injury.  I....think....I get it. And if Gonzalez had played his entire career here (rather tha...

Re: The Mike Sweeney Era Is Nearly Over

It's been done before by a Royal "fan favorite" - Joe Randa.  In 2004, we had a deal worked out to ship him off at the deadline.  Joe didn't want to leave KC (after all the great wonders he had done for us, how dare we trade him?). Faked an "injury" so he wouldn't be traded.  Ad...
