Re: Real Estate Listings of Interest (Metrowide)
I know this thread is focussing on residential listings, but I thought I would post some commercial listings that haven't been discussed on here and could have some good redevelopment possibilities. =D> great post! - keeping my fingers crossed that the wheatley building makes it as well Loopnet say...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ
this morning on NPR, they did a story on all the "quirky" things that cities are doing to get Amazon's attention. like Tucson sent a giant cactus to seattle. multiple mayors did cheesy videos as well. it made me feel a little better that Sly's antics are not any worse (or better) than the...

Re: OFFICIAL - 46 Penn Centre
Also as an FYI, I found some new and really good looking renderings on NSPJ's 47 Madison tower on their website. Here's the link to the page (because I'm too lazy to post all of them and I don't want to spam this topic that's probably already gone a little too bit off topic): https://nspjarch.com/po...

Plus a 6 story 170 unit apartment complex at 48th and Belleview that I couldn't find any renderings for. I believe that would be 4711 Belleview: http://i63.tinypic.com/9fy9sw.jpg I was poking around on NSPJ's website and I found these renderings of this project. https://nspjarch.com/wp-content/uplo...

Re: OFFICIAL - 46 Penn Centre
Does anyone know what is being built at 45th and Summit? http://tinyurl.com/y7bt475g More new townhomes. The plat can be found on the city development tracker map. They are not being built by the same developer as the ones to the north. I haven't seen any renderings of them but IIRC they are being ...

http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article177102471.html they passed it out to full council. taylor was the lone dissenter. Should we write the council to ask them to reject this measure? I disagree with this "moratorium" but it only applies for 6 months so is it even wort...

Re: Amazon searching for second HQ
Greitens is though Greitens loves jobs. Imagine how much Greitens would have to boast about if either KC or STL won this under his administration? "When I helped Missiouri add 50,000 jobs for Amazon..." would become his new go to phrase in interviews instead of "when I was a Navy Sea...

Re: OFFICIAL - Corrigan Building
Looks like someone at Helix has a thing for Mies-ian aesthetics. It's a shame they cut it down to 3 floors. On the postive side, It's got an active first floor, high quality exterior materials, and courtyard space! I agree with you on the "Mies-ain" architecture comment. When I first saw ...
Re: Oak Tower
Going back to Oak Tower itself, I recently went in the lobby of the building just to see what was in there. I was surprised to find that the room just to the right of the entrance is still decorated in art deco! They even have framed photos and blueprints of the building. I spoke to the one person ...

Re: Eclipse
I've heard that nearly all the hotels are booked in KC for Monday's eclipse. Any evidence of tourists being there in droves? I drove along I-29 near the airport and every hotel along it had completely full parking lots and many RVs too. That's something I've never seen before in my twice daily driv...

A comment on the Nike store discussion some posts back... I talked to one of the employees on the opening day who said to me the rollout of the store was terrible. He showed me a pair of what he called "dad mowing the yard shoes" from last year's fashion season being sold for $70. He said ...

As an update, the previously mentioned new retail development at Bell Road and Highway 45 was approved. I have no knowledge of tenants or start/completion dates. Was on the city's development tracker map and saw this new street vacation request that asks to vacate Westport Rd between Mill St and Broadway, and vacate a significant portion of Pennsylvania Ave north and south of Westport Rd. True, true. Good points, flyingember.
I admittedly skimmed those before posting because I wanted to get them out there for other opinions before tonight's meeting.
After reading further into the letters, it does sound like a more quality plan should be desired and requested by area residents.
