Re: Big XII Basketball
Mostly because of Texas going undefeated, and our 9-6 winning record against the PAC 10 (who almost everyone thought/thinks is the best), the Big XII could get some good cred going into conference play. Tech is the only school not to have played a PAC 10 team at least once, and they are set to play...

Re: Mitchell Report
Basically, this is a terrific representation of how steroids actually affects the game. It isn't only the top players taking the stuff, but a ton of ho-hum names as well. It isn't a problem worth castigating one particular individual, such as Bonds (though he did crush the last sacred record in ba...

Re: Big XII Basketball
The biggest bonus from having past teams in the final four is that you feel like you belong there and didn't just "luck" in. When KU made the Final Four in 2003, they had been there the previous year and were facing a team who was just happy to have made it at all in Marquette. Bad game ...

Re: Most expensive homes for sale in KC metro
Almost directly next to Mission Valley Middle School (opened in 1958), and just down the street from Johnny's (PV) in Corinth Square.

Re: Most expensive homes for sale in KC metro
I know a guy who lived just a few houses away when he was a baby, well over your estimates. Leawood and the Leawood/Prairie Village border has been built out to 103rd (Old Saddle and Sirloin) between State Line and Roe for many years now. The mansion houses in question may be newer, but those surr...

Re: Most expensive homes for sale in KC metro
I think you'd be lucky to find a house for under 300k within a two mile radius of that $5.8 million mansion. There are two other slightly smaller houses next door, probably in the $2.5+ million range. That surrounding neighborhood is really nice, close to Franklin Park, elementary and middle schoo...

Re: Big XII Basketball
You're right, Bobby, he's one Jayhawk bballer who's rap sheet doesn't include physical violence. I know that makes him a real Mother Teresa by the standards of the Kansas athletic department. But he was driving with a SUSPENDED license, not just exceeding the speed limit by a few miles. I don't k...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps the real win is that we are just involved in these trade rumors. I actually hope we don't sign Rowan or Fukudome for what has been suggested, but this will set us up well for next off-season, or even mid-season if we can snag someone for less than they are worth.

Re: Big XII Basketball
This happens all the time with college kids. His stupidity in not showing up for a few simple court dates is too bad, but it is hard for me to bash the guy. Please MU/KSU fans, go on and on about this, because I could really care less about a college kid not showing up for traffic-related court da...

Re: beer.
23rd Street in Larry has no affiliation with 75th Street. It used to be called 75th Street, but was not a success, and KC Hopps ditched that effort. That location has been tricky (previously Emerson Biggins and something else) because it is too far away from other bars for many students and just o...

Re: Big XII Basketball
Has anyone else heard KSU is under investigation for academic fraud and paying current basketball players? Allegedly, a report is to come out mid-January based on findings from KSU, a KC law firm, and the NCAA. I've only read this secondhand, so take it with a grain of salt. Just wanted to hear i...

Re: Big XII Basketball
KU got pretty lucky with some calls, not to say that is why they won the game, but it was truly sloppy. OJ Mayo looked like a joke who needs a ton of coaching and discipline (doesn't look like he chose the right school for that). Rush still looks stale and is afraid to let loose on his leg, Arthur...

Re: Big XII Basketball
You only get one point per year for every year you were a member of the WEF, so anything over 100 dollars only gives you points for that year. You can't carry these over as I understand, but you can get points for season tickets in other sports that aren't football and from membership in the Chance...

Re: Big XII Basketball
ok so this is starting to make more sense....these people never donated to the scholarship fund and hence never had points...so they were asked to match points of those who selected their seats that had been donating all those years...makes total sense, same thing (smaller scale) happened at KSU......

There is a pdf on this page that shows donor levels. It doesn't list points per seat, and I forgot where this chart is.

Re: Big XII Basketball
Not having the suites really hurts the average fan. I can't completely blame the AD for trying to exploit the demand, though. Lew and company should have set lower point standards, but they were reproducing what has been done at many places before Allen Fieldhouse. Our revenue has skyrocketed sin...

Re: Big XII Basketball
Outside of ticket prices, the WEF donations for the best seats are around 100k+ a year. This also ties into football. If you want to get into the Naismith room, you have to donate 25k, and that is for access to the free alcohol and food before the game and at halftime. Tickets are $45 a piece fac...
