Probably KC simply because it is bigger, but there are an awful lot of government employees who reside in Lawrence, but work in Topeka.
But Lawrencites do get local news on TV from both cities.

Mission Center Mall or Wal-Mart?
I too have not seen numbers to back it up, but have you been to a Wal-Mart lately? Have you seen how many cameras they have purched on the roof overlooking the parking lot? The one in Roeland Park has at least 20...at least! The one at 79th and Frontage Rd in Overland Park is the same way. Plus, th...

Does Lawrence consider itself part of KC?
As a former Lawrence resident I would say that Lawrencites do not feel part of KC, that there is definitely a city identity that is all their own. Lawrence prides itself as being its own city, a unique city, and a liberal city, so it is definitely not part of KC.

Again, I don't think you're very knowledgable if you don't think those jokes are extremely lame. I don't think the Maloofs would be interested in owning a team in KC. They are Vegas casino owners and like to jet inbetween Sac and Vegas between games, which would be harder to do from KC. Plus Sacrame...

Eastside about to boom? Or should I say re-boom?
Wow that sounds really awesome. I would love to look into buying a home in one of these neighborhoods but I know my girlfriend will be concerned about crime, safety, etc. Are these neighborhoods safe? How can I assauge her fears?

Mission Center Mall or Wal-Mart?
Does anyone really believe there is more crime in places where Wal Mart roosts? I'm no Wal Mart fan but that seems like a stretch.
So if people don't want a Wal Mart, what do they want there?

What I would do if I were named manager of Union Station
I agree about the traveling exhibits...the exhibit on US documents was awesome and most people don't get the chance to see those kind of things. I think Union Station needs some shops and boutiques for the ladies and a sports bar for the gentlemen. A cool jazz club wouldn't hurt. I've heard the casi...

Should we build a downtown stadium?
I don't think a stadium is needed now, but we should probably start rounding up financing and a plan to build one by 2015 when the stadium will be almost 45 years old.

Copying St. Louis may not be a bad thing. Busch Stadium II Cost: $387 million Privately owned and operated by the St. Louis Cardinals $200.5 in privately owned bonds, which team must repay $90.1 in cash and loans from team owners $45 million loan from St. Louis county $9.2 in construction fund inter...

Careful guys. I think you can get arrested by John Ashcroft's boys if you're caught taking pictures of bridges.

I care about the MLS. I don't care about NASCAR, so I guess we should blow up the Kansas Speedway.

For a person that claims to be so, you are not a very knowledgable person if you think "Loser" and "Jackasses" are very good names.

Chiefs Predictions for 2004
I hate to say it but I think we're in for a disappointment. I think our offensive performance will drop off quite a bit, you know Dante Hall won't be returning kicks for TDs this year (that was a bit of a fluke) and the defense will improve, but only marginally. I'm afraid I see a 7-9 or 8-8 season ...

I like "Outlaws" the name of our new UHL team. It shows our tradition of being an outpost to outlaw cities like Dodge City, and the history of Jesse James.
If you want to play on our stockyards history, we could have the Kansas City Wranglers.

I hope Neil Smith is just a spokesman. The thought of him running a business is a bit scary. A three week internship?
The AFL may not attract PHXcat, or myself, but it is very popular. In 2004, the league averaged 12,000 a game. Denver draws as many as 17,000 a game.

Kansans Deserve Political Attention!!!
There really isn't much use for a candidate to go to any state not named Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, New Mexico, Arizona, New Hampshire, Washington, Oregon or Florida.

The Velvet Dog
The Sandbar in Lawrence (close enough to KC, right?)

Kansas City, Missouri Mayors
Kay Barnes is mayor now. Rev. Emmanuel Cleaver was mayor before her. He was mayor for about 50 years. Richard Berkeley was mayor before him for about 100 years. I think that's about it.
