Re: KC in TV and Movies
Some creative geography. The modern image of oak tower is killing me Yeah, I noticed that too. Somebody posted a comparison to a real photo of the 1950s skyline. Apart from minor details, most of the larger buildings at least are reasonably close. Now, replacing everything north of the Lewis & ...

Re: COVID-19 Casualties
Clubhouse Experience (although not sure how much COVID19 impacted them) Bummer. That outdoor space never caught on. At least they built out a full kitchen so filling the space should be easier. That outdoor space probably could have saved them from covid if it were done better. But the way it was s...

My company is relocating there from Midtown and will be the building's first tenant. We are the western half of the second floor and start moving in in about 6 weeks.TheLastGentleman wrote: ↑Sun Sep 06, 2020 2:56 pm Work being done on the water building at 2nd and main
The ground floor is being shelled out as future restaurant/bar space.

Re: KC in TV and Movies
I finally got around to watching the new Fargo Season 4 trailer (set in 1950s KC) after seeing it mentioned again on Reddit. I saved a couple of screenshots that gave me chills. (You can right-click either image to see them full-size.) Note: I tweaked the first image a little in Photoshop as the ver...

I never noticed until now that the project includes extending 3rd Street to connect to Beardsley. That's a huge improvement over the awkward jog currently required.

Which garage building is being demolished? The Club Garage (~3ish-level tan building) or the Muehlebach Garage (~7ish-level red building)? I suspect it’s this one https://i.imgur.com/R061pks.jpg Ah, I forgot about that one, that makes the most sense. I got thrown off by the discussion of the Clubho...

Re: Old KCPS HQ - 12th & McGee
I heard a rumor that there were anywhere from 50-150 homeless found living on the upper floors of the building just before demolition began. Evidently since the elevators were not working, security sweeps i the building rarely went up high enough to flush them out.

Drove by the construction site today. No one was around so I stopped and took a quick panorama of the construction site. I didn't really realize how big this is. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/50132210836_ed52cff100_k.jpg I've driven by the construction several times in recent months but I fle...

Paging scooterj! I'm way too old and broken down to do that anymore! I never got around to doing the full length of the city north-south, as at the time (13 years ago I think?) I couldn't find a walking route south of Red Bridge where I felt safe from traffic without adding multiple miles hav...

i wish BKS would have slightly more expansive hours. Does anyone know if those are forthcoming? (Putting aside for the moment covid-19). seems like being open to the public 2 afternoons a week would not really cut it? Agree. I delayed my first visit there for months due to the extremely limited hou...

I've eaten at the one in NKC and it is great. They have the online order really dialed in. Plus that location was packed when they were open prior to the Covid crap. And they've adapted to curbside really well, one of the better setups I've experienced so far. They seem to have been doing brisk bus...

Baramee is open for carryout but not sure if they do any of the delivery services. Got county road a couple weeks ago but I carried it out myself and it was very good. Yeah, I've been getting my County Road fixes curbside during this and it's been consistently good. I haven't tried having it delive...

Re: OFFICIAL - Reverb (1800 Walnut)
What's everyone think about this vs. city club? As others have said, CityClub has a good amount of amenities and takes up a full block among other things. Except for the 20% of the block it doesn't take up. It's still a massive enough project that there's been a couple of times I had to remind myse...

Has anyone seen any speculation on why the infection rate in the St. Louis area is running so much higher than ours? Anyone know if Caddyshack is still doing pizzas? They don’t seem to have posted anything online since before St. Pat’s and no one was answering the phone when we tried to call tonight.

So far I've had County Line, Christine's Firehouse, and North Dragon. All have gone smoothly and the food has been good. North Dragon hadn't quite worked out a good no-contact way to do payment but that was a couple of weeks ago so they might have figured it out since then. Christine's has been sell...
