Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
East Village is worse than Crossroads because you’re evicting residents of two affordable housing buildings, need to vacate many more streets, and have to contend with the Feds. If you think KCTenants was pissed about crossroads, you should see them if East Village was brought up.

Re: OFFICIAL: H&R Block HQ
Slightly off-topic, but St. Louis peeps, what's the story here: https://twitter.com/unusual_whales/status/1778479545613439455 In short, SomeraRoad bought it previously. Worked on a redevelopment plan with Advantes Group (a small local developer). Ended up getting incentives lined up for a mixed-use...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Royals are whooping Houston’s ass in the last game of this series. Bottom of the 1st: 9 runs. And how many people are there? I had a conversation with someone here I won't name, but they can if they want. What if you could just walk in to a game? Sit at a bar and watch over lunch. It's time to reth...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
It would be wrong to keep the Royals at TSC. Even with a streetcar connection, the suburban minded folks would still control what happens by demanding parking remain, practically eliminating the Royals chances of a mixed-use development next to the stadium. Building on the other side of 70 is not su...

Royals now second in AL Central. #1 in bets for the Wildcard. Won against the Astros 11-2 tonight. 7 of those runs were in the 3rd inning.

Their home opener attendance this year was 38,775. Pretty close to sell out.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Those 18th Street improvements are pretty amazing. Really hope they can still make this location work. 18th Street is getting come improvements in the form of new concrete curbs near corners, but nothing at the level seen in that rendering. It would be nice to enhance the bike path between 18th and...

Not that it means much, but here's a rendering of the Crossroads Stadium high-rises viewed from the east. It was hidden in the 18th Street pedestrian improvements rendering I posted back in February. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53642898487_5c144630e4_h.jpg The original image in question... h...

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could the team work out a deal with any of the local tv stations (Fox4, KMBC, KSHB, or KCTV)? Or would that have to be through the station’s parent organizations.

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
Kind of makes me think Brookside might support extending the streetcar out to them after all. And Waldo. I think both would support the Streetcar extension. It would also be cheaper to build than the current line. Map of the vote. https://www.datawrapper.de/_/gnIRR/ Thanks for sharing this link. Lo...

Why wait for the IRS to leave? Kick them to the curb and bulldoze that horrible new building tomorrow. It’s not like anyone will miss them.

Re: GO ROYALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I attended the game today. Yes, it was windy, but the kids enjoyed getting splashed with water from the fountains. People were having a good time too. Leaving with a win is the highlight of today. The fact no one shows up to the games is because of three factors. 1. Location. Why attend a game where...

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium
I took some time and read through the email communications between Brooks Sherman, Mayor DeLong, Clay County officials, North KC Police Chief, and others. I also reviewed the presentations submitted by the Royals as well. It's clear to me that they were having positive discussions and moving in a di...

Yesterday. The fact vandals haven't gotten in yet is a testament to either a good security system, or people just wanting to leave the place alone. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53635191796_5a6f71df75_h.jpg https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53634297897_4e934907ae_h.jpg https://live.staticfli...
