Re: Kansas City Sprawl: Dealing with the future

I didn't post the article because I believe one way or another.  I posted it because it provided a different point-of-view.  Even though I may or may not support someone's opinion, I find it interesting to read others thoughts and perceptions about things I think about.

Re: 10 Largest MegaCities in 2025; Ghost Cities of 2100

Re: New Convention Hotel talk

Having Starwood as the hotel operator of Sheraton, Westin, and W Hotel would work well because they could use the same booking operator for all hotels and make it seamless. The different brands would appeal to different groups as well.

It appears that why we're going to the trouble of building a new convention hotel, shouldn't we be building a 1,200 room facility instead of a 1,000?

Plenty of stores in NYC take their merchandise in through the front door and park the delivery truck on the curb in front.

This should be the prototype for all new downtown garages from now on.  Especially the one that will replace Shopper's Parkade at 11th and Grand.

I know a lot of people from my hometown in NW Missouri that refer to anyone who speaks a foreign language, or even broken English with an accent, as foreigners--whether they might be US citizens or not. My grandma used to take care of an much older German lady who lived on a farm in NW Missouri. The...

I don't think Midtownkid intended to be offensive in any way.  Not everyone can always remember to be precise, delicate, and eloquent in how they pose a question.  Could he have done better?  Probably. But who hasn't mistated something in their lives that they later regretted? I don't think it's rac...

With the value of the dollar dropping against foreign currencies, there probably are more tourists coming to Kansas City because it's a cheap value compared to other cities.

Re: Cliff drive proposed as downtown area giant hiking/biking trail

They ought to schedule some sort of classic car parade down Cliff Drive so residents can take in the classic cars and sit along the roadway and watch them drive past in a long parade. It would ge a lovely outing. It could be quite a big deal and prizes could be awarded, etc.

I recall reading that the stadiums were placed in the Leeds District because they were financed by Jackson County, and to get the vote to pass, politics dictated putting them closer to eastern Jackson County.

Re: Case Park Shooting Results in Death

I don't see the point of killing someone and stealing their vehicle only to leave it a burned out shell a few miles away.  Why was the killer so intent on taking a vehicle at gunpoint if he didn't intend to profit from it?  Was he trying to get away from some other crime quickly? Why would he go to ...
