Re: Restaurants you ate out at as a kid

And also re: Colony - do I remember a later iteration in southern stretches of Ward Parkway? Or was that something else? I do recall eating at Joe's near 79th and Stateline a fair amount as a child (looking forward to the candy machine on the way out the door), and used to love Leona Yarborough's i...

Re: Best Local Trails

My wife got an ebike and it has been a wild success in getting us to explore new trails without worrying about hills.

She turns it off on flat parts so she still feels like she's getting good exercise.

She spends a lot of time waiting on me now.

Re: I-70

Except it doesn't work that way. 3 lanes add a complexity that doesn't exist with 2 lanes. You end up with trucks mostly in the right lane, most of the cars and passing trucks in the middle lane and 15-20 mph over the limit in the left. Except for metro areas, I much prefer the 2 lane predictability...

I was surprised to read this.

For those of you who got out and about during the draft, what were your impressions?

Re: Downtown Baseball Stadium

I used to not believe that the Royals performance on the field could affect their chances of getting a new stadium. Right now there is no enthusiasm for the Royals. With regards for enthusiasm for a downtown location I only see support for that only among current downtown supporters, no support fro...

Yes, put all of our resources into creating mind blowing pedestrian bridges across the through streets.

Copaken tore it down with no plan, in classic Copaken fashion, not the school board There was a buyer wanting to develop. Board balked because they feared the repercussions of approving TIF for it. Should never have been sold to Copaken in the first place. Only plan I recall was a crappy auto-centr...
