KC Metro Transportation Ideas
I'm currently living in Chicago, and I have to admit the public transit here has me spoiled now. I'm so excited for Kansas City, though. I made a map that kind of outlines a vision for KCI to Streetcar transit, but it's obviously a dream. I'd love to hear everyone's ideas and opinions, with the unde...

Just checked HereToStayKC.com, and was happy to find information regarding the petition. I think the post does a good job answering questions as to what will happen next. http://heretostaykc.com/get-the-facts-about-the-anti-hotel-effort/ Also, I'm not sure what the exact petition's text is, but thi...

The bill either landed on Governor Greitens desk on April 27th or 28th, and according to Missouri law: "The governor must sign or veto legislation within 15 days after transmittal, or it becomes law without his/her signature. If transmittal occurs with less than 15 days remaining in the session...

Current Hannibal Bridge
My dad works for BNSF, and has heard in passing that there's talk of replacing the bridge with a newer rail crossing in conjunction with a new Broadway Bridge/North Loop closing. He said there's interest in using the Hannibal Bridge as a pedestrian connection. All rumors so far, unless someone can c...

Re: OFFICIAL - Hyatt Regency Convention Hotel
So Cleveland got that Hilton for $272m and it's a much better design and is 32 floors? What am I missing here? And it just opened. Cuyahoga County issued bonds to pay for it, the port authority owns it and they hired Hilton to operate it. It's a public project. This first article claimed they could...

Re: OFFICIAL - Hyatt Regency Convention Hotel
Someone should show those renderings to the hack architects that are designing the Hyatt Regency. They're just doing their jobs. If a client asks to you to value engineer, obviously you can't have exactly what you want. And if it bothers everyone, they should talk to council members to see if there...

Re: OFFICIAL - Hyatt Regency Convention Hotel
All of this comparing so far is so subjective. I guess it would be interesting to do a comparison to see which hotel provides the most bang (rooms, amenities, meeting spaces, retail, street activity in $ generated) for your buck. From a functional standpoint, I think this hotel is good. Am I super p...

Re: OFFICIAL - Hyatt Regency Convention Hotel
From a functional perspective, I still think the building is good and will serve it's purpose well. It will be a very nice hotel, and I'm sure it will be an asset that helps more people bring conventions and events to our city, among other improvements. On a side note, I looked at the architectural ...
