Re: COVID19
Interesting quote When thousands of people would rather die than continue existing in your system, it’s time to reevaluate your system. When thousands of people would rather die than continue existing in the imaginary system that exists in their head, it’s time to reevaluate the imaginary system in...

Re: Plaza move-ins (ongoing)
The Plaza has been in steady decline for the better part of the past ten years, even though the conversation has been dismissed on here repeatedly. There is no luxury retail left, which was always what made The Country Club Plaza a signature destination. Stores like Burberry and Halls have all move...

Re: Westport
I don't go to Westport too often, but I really wish we could shift the crowds/bars it gets to downtown. The streetcar might help alleviate this some with the connectivity. Idk if the term is "bar sprawl" but it would be awesome to have all of what Westport has really adjacent to P&L i...

Re: Johnson County Transit (The JO)
The bus system is based 100% on where they can get funding for, and then they fund where the politics demand transportation. 1. NKC has tens of thousands of jobs, so it's not jobs that defines where we improve transit service. There's tens of thousands of jobs without better than every 60 minute ser...

NYC saw the police union claim 10,000 cops would walk out over the vaccine mandate The local court upheld the requirement The initial number: 34 Supposedly that stat is a little misleading , as 6500 cops still have pending applications for exemptions, so it remains to be seen how many might still w...

LVP is a huge benefit comes in the renal market where they aren't going to put wood in.
I checked our cost and our hardwood flooring was $6.40/sq ft installed in 2017
Not having to replace carpet every 3-5 years in a rental has to be a benefit for cost.

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
Who are you weirdos that go sightseeing at airports? Whose experience would be improved by putting a couple floors underground? If we had a downtown airport you might justify the cost, but come on. You could burry the parking in china and you’re still not going to have a better experience. The gara...

Re: OFFICIAL - New KCI Terminal
PDX has a huge massive garage blocking their main terminal but I haven't seen anyone saying it completely ruined their airport? I barely noticed it because I was trying to navigate where I was going. Everything kind of blended together into one big structure and I had never been there before. It wa...

London is going to be in low demand for business travel with Brexit.
Dublin is outside Schengen. So something on the continent seems most likely.

The fire Marshall won’t give an occupancy permit if everyone else is stupid enough to build it. A *tent* in California that can hold that many people needs 7 egress points. Edit- found better plans https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IgEAYCEphg6x6WDQ8NQGuILqN31SA6LP/view There’s 10 egress points. Still...

Because big public incentives, tax breaks and the like are less popular than in 2006.

Re: OFFICIAL - Artistry KC (19th and Oak)
The lots along Main need infill first, especially around 8th/Main to Phoenix and the pockets in Xroads but would imagine these outer lots off beaten path are much cheaper. Lots that haven't developed yet are likely to be the most expensive to buy. The low hanging fruit has been built on already. Re...
